About MHADM

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management (MHADM) is an institution in the Government of Republic of South Sudan that is mandated to formulate policies in accordance to South Sudan laws and humanitarian principles. It promotes and advocates humanitarian laws and principle that protect IDPs and refugees. It also supervises, coordinates, facilities, monitors and evaluates the humanitarian operations in South Sudan. It designs, formulates policies on disasters, risk reduction and mitigation and it develops system of early warnings and preparedness responses.

It’s also Formulate policies with respect to humanitarian work and disaster management in line with international humanitarian principles, conventions, treaties, protocol and to ensure their proper implementation and Represent Government of South Sudan in National, Regional and International Humanitarian and Disaster Management Forum.
